Based on my travel experience with my family, the best areas to stay in Tokyo for first-timer are the neighborhoods of Ueno, Shinjuku, Tokyo Station and Shibuya.
Ueno
Wondering where to stay in Tokyo with kids?
Ueno is the #1 place to stay if you have children with you on your trip.
First, Ueno Park offers abundant outdoor space, mini-train rides, paddle boats, and the renowned Ueno Zoo.
Also, it’s home to Ameyoko Shopping District where you can buy cheap pasalubong to take home with you on your trip back home.
